Assistant General Manager

Lobby Bar is looking for a hands-on Assistant General Manager to help lead service, support the team and keep a busy neighborhood bar running smoothly.

We are an independent cocktail bar offering thoughtful drinks, approachable food, table service and private events. We value warm hospitality, consistency, teamwork and good judgment. This is an active floor position not a desk-only management role.

• Lead welcoming, attentive and efficient guest service
  

• Supervise and support bartenders, servers and support staff
  

• Work service shifts and step into any position when needed
  

• Help train, coach and develop employees
  

• Maintain opening, closing and side-work standards
  

• Monitor cleanliness, organization and product quality
  

• Assist with scheduling, inventory, ordering and cost controls
  

• Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally
  

• Support private events, promotions and neighborhood programming
  

• Reinforce responsible alcohol service and workplace safety
  

• Communicate staffing, maintenance and operational concerns to ownership
  

• Help create a workplace where accountability and respect go together
  

• At least two years of bar, restaurant or hospitality experience
  

• Previous shift-lead or management experience preferred
  

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer
  

• Confident leading a team while remaining approachable
  

• Excellent communication, organization and follow-through
  

• Comfortable giving clear direction and constructive feedback
  

• Able to stay composed and make decisions during busy service
  

• Willing to clean, restock, run food and help wherever needed
  

• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  

• Current California RBS and food-handler certifications, or the ability to obtain them
  

The right person understands that hospitality is both warm and disciplined. You should care about the guest experience, notice details before they become problems and believe that no necessary task is beneath management.

• $28 - $30 per hour
  

• Performance-based bonuses
  

• This position is not eligible to participate in the tip pool
