The Assistant Headmaster and College & Career Counselor at Founders Classical Academy (FCA) Rogers is a dual leadership role designed to support the Headmaster in campus operations while leading the high school guidance program. This individual is responsible for maintaining the school''s commitment to a 100% college acceptance rate and providing comprehensive postsecondary planning for students in grades 8-12. Simultaneously, they provide administrative oversight for student conduct, campus culture, and instructional excellence. Core Responsibilities College and Career Counseling Success Planning: Develop and manage 8th Grade Success Plans with each student to support career exploration and college preparation. Admissions & Guidance: Administer all aspects of the college search and admissions process, assisting students in identifying institutions that align with their strengths and values. Academic Planning: Manage 7-12 course scheduling, graduation planning, and the maintenance of the course catalog. Testing Coordination: Oversee college entrance exam testing (PSAT, ACT, AP) and provide interpretation of results for families. Communication: Direct communication via newsletters, scholarship updates, and monthly information packets regarding the college admission process. Outreach: Establish positive working relationships with colleges and universities to familiarize them with the Classical Education model. Special Events: Coordinate events such as Senior Decision Day and alumni panels to highlight student achievements and support the transition to campus life. Administrative Leadership Campus Operations: Support the Headmaster in overseeing student conduct, tours, and the promotion of a positive school culture. Instructional Support: Conduct TESS evaluations and serve as a liaison for SPED and 504 services. Admissions Support: Meet with prospective families alongside the Headmaster to discuss school mission, values, and review student transcripts for graduation alignment. Scheduling: Assist in the development of the high school master schedule. Safety & Compliance: Oversee emergency drills, school safety protocols, and participate in RTI committees. Testing Oversight: Serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an applicable field of study or education from an accredited institution. Experience: 5+ years of experience in the college admissions process preferred, either in high school guidance or college-level admissions. Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Classical Education model and a readiness to advocate for its mission. Skills: High level of organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, and the ability to solve challenging problems through a collaborative approach.
