We’re an organic, seed oil-free café and gluten-free bakery looking for a hands-on Assistant Kitchen Manager who shares that care. Someone who loves to cook, takes pride in their work, and enjoys helping a team do its best.
You’ll work on the line and support our chef with the day-to-day flow of the kitchen. You’ll also have room to contribute ideas, help develop recipes, and build your leadership skills—with opportunities to take on more responsibility as we grow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Cooking on the line and helping guide the team through prep and service.
- Supporting our chef with daily prep lists, station readiness, and kitchen organization.
- Helping with inventory counts, ordering needs, product rotation, and reducing waste.
- Supporting the training of cooks and reinforcing recipes, portions, and presentation.
- Helping develop and test new recipes alongside our chef and owners.
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the shift.
- Helping coordinate tasks and keeping our chef informed about what the kitchen needs.
- Stepping in to lead service when assigned.
What we’re looking for:
Solid cooking experience and some experience leading or supporting a kitchen team—as a lead line cook, shift lead, or in a similar role. You’re ready to grow, comfortable giving direction, and open to learning from others.
You communicate clearly, stay steady during a rush, and follow through. Just as important, you care about ingredients and find joy in feeding people well. You want to be part of a place you believe in and contribute to where it goes next.
Weekend availability and scheduling flexibility are required.
