Assistant Painter / Finishing Assistant - High-End Residential, New York, NY

Our client is a Manhattan high-end residential construction firm working in occupied luxury apartments, townhouses and private homes.

The firm is hiring an Assistant Painter to work as the number two to its Finishing Specialist. This is a growth position for someone earlier in a finishing career who wants to become a senior finisher, not a twenty-year master looking for a last post.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep work on luxury interiors - skim coating, patching, sanding, taping and priming.
• Supporting the Finishing Specialist across paint and finish scopes.
• Protection, dust control and daily cleanup in occupied residences.
• Working alongside building staff and clients with discretion.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of high-end residential painting with genuine prep experience behind it.
• Comfortable working in occupied homes - punctual, presentable and respectful with clients, doormen and building staff.
• Meticulous about protection and cleanliness.
• Specialty finishing exposure such as Venetian plaster or lacquer is a plus.

Compensation

• $26.00 to $34.00 per hour, set to experience.
