ALC Steel Corporation is one of the New York metropolitan area's leading commercial miscellaneous and ornamental steel contractors. We fabricate and install custom steel systems for hospitals, airports, schools, multifamily developments, commercial buildings, and public infrastructure throughout Long Island and the five boroughs of New York City.

We are looking for an organized, motivated professional who wants to grow into a Project Manager. This is not an administrative position—it is a hands-on opportunity to learn every aspect of commercial steel fabrication and installation while working directly with company leadership.

What You'll Do

• Assist Project Managers and estimators with commercial steel projects from award through closeout.
• Review architectural and structural drawings.
• Coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
• Prepare RFIs and track responses.
• Assist with estimating, takeoffs, and material pricing.
• Coordinate purchasing and vendor quotations.
• Help schedule fabrication and field installation.
• Participate in field measurements and site visits.
• Track project budgets, change orders, and schedules.
• Work with our fabrication shop and field crews to keep projects moving.
• Help improve our estimating systems and AI-driven workflows.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• 2+ years of construction, fabrication, engineering, or project coordination experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings (or willingness to learn).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar software is a plus.
• Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related education is preferred, but not required.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow.
