The George Washington University's Department of Counseling and Human Development School Counseling Program is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-accruing specialized faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning as early as Summer 2026. The Counseling and Human Development Department has a strong identity in diversity, disability, and counseling research. The Department espouses an anti-racist and anti-oppressive stance as it engages in its mission of teaching, research, and service.
Responsibilities: The Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of the School Counseling Program will provide comprehensive oversight for the school counseling program, with an approximate enrollment 35 students. This 12-month appointment includes teaching 6 courses within the school counseling program and across programs within the Department of Counseling and Human Development. Additionally, this role includes the administrative duties of the School Counseling Program, including advising, enrollment, scheduling of courses, and other administrative duties as needed. Services responsibilities include engaging in departmental, school, and university committees as needed, dissertation committee engagement, and other service activities as identified by the department.
