Pay range for this position is $48.29. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a Salaried position.

Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for College of Nursing students in the nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for patients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the College of Nursing’s total educational programs. Acts as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in nursing or related field OR Master’s Degree with a major in nursing (MS or MSN)

 

At least two years’ experience in clinical nursing as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations

 

Licensure in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Licensure in Illinois as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) if teaching in Graduate Program specialty area

 

Certification in population specific focus, i.e., Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (if teaching in APRN program) if teaching in Graduate program specialty area

 

Other Skills/Knowledge: Communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to student learning

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous teaching experience, preferably in a baccalaureate nursing program
