Job Description

Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track)

Electrical & Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in Fall 2027. Our priority is power and energy systems, broadly defined. Areas of interest include power systems, power electronics, grid modernization and resilience, renewable energy integration, energy storage, and electrified transportation and marine power systems.

We also welcome candidates whose work advances energy systems from neighboring areas, such as control and optimization of energy networks, machine learning and data analytics for the grid, cyber-physical security of energy infrastructure, sensing and monitoring, and energy-efficient electronics. Exceptional candidates in other areas of electrical and computer engineering whose research complements the department's strengths will also be considered.

The successful candidate will help build the department's research and teaching program in power and energy and will play a central role in shaping its curriculum and graduate offerings in this field.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to develop an externally funded research program, supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses in their specialty, and contribute to service in the department, university, and profession.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the start date. Candidates should show the potential to build a nationally recognized research program and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring. Industry or national laboratory experience is welcome.
