The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have an immediate need for an Assistant Program Manager to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will support the Program Manager and serve as point-of-contact to manage all programmatic matters of the assigned functional area. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and personnel of that functional area. Apply experience in a supervisory capacity in planning, developing, and executing major research and development efforts for defense organizations. Establish strong working relationships with R&D program managers as well as organization leadership; track task order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems; and identify and resolve administrative and contractual issues related to a support services contract.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• 10 years supporting Program Managers to manage all programmatic matters of the assigned functional area; responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and personnel of that functional area.
• Experience in a supervisory capacity in planning, developing, and executing major research and development efforts for defense organizations.
• Experience in establishing strong working relationships with R&D program managers as well as organization leadership; tracking task order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems; and identifying and resolving administrative and contractual issues related to a support services contract is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance. 
• Able to report to Arlington, VA, full-time based upon client needs.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success in managing teams of at least 10 people.
