The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking an Assistant Program Manager for our PILOTS (Planning and Implementing Housing Options for Long-term Success) community outreach program in Waterbury, CT. The Assistant Program Manager is expected to lead and coordinate the team's day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and effective performance.
The Assistant Program Manager works within the program's model, establishing open communication, support, and accountability among co-workers and staff in the PILOTS program. The Assistant Program Manager also assists program participants to live independently in the community by addressing their mental and physical health, substance use, employment, and housing needs. They actively promote the philosophy of the agency and maintain a high level of commitment to program participants. PILOTS staff use a counseling approach that uses both motivational interviewing and harm-reduction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Program Manager to train and supervise outreach staff to ensure appropriate service delivery
- Assists outreach staff with time management: manages logistics of client coverage and assists when necessary
- Provide assistance to staff in securing housing, move-in, relocations, interventions in eviction processes, rent arrears and housing stability
- Provide crisis intervention
REQUIRMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with psychiatric or co-occurring diagnoses
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills and reasonable proficiency with technology
Valid driver's license and a registered, and insured vehicle available for work purposes
Approved criminal background and driving check
SCHEDULE:
1st shift, 8:30am-4:30pm. Days on: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Days off: Saturday, Sunday.
