Assistant Project Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Cleveland, OH area. Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project managers in delivering structural and miscellaneous steel projects.

Position Responsibilities:

- Support project managers with day-to-day coordination of steel projects

- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and transmittals

- Coordinate with detailing, purchasing, and shop teams on schedules and materials

- Maintain project documentation, logs, and change order records

- Assist with progress billings and cost tracking

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Review drawings and specifications to help confirm scope

- Attend project meetings and record action items

- Track material orders, deliveries, and shop progress

- Communicate with general contractors and field crews on shipping and sequencing

- Help with project closeout documents and warranties

Position Skills:

- 1-3 years of experience in steel fabrication, construction, or engineering

- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings

- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Tekla or project management software a plus

- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
