We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support and oversee heavy civil infrastructure projects for a growing construction company. This role is ideal for a hands-on, organized, and detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in complex project environments and wants to contribute to safe, high-quality project delivery.
Support project leadership and work closely with the Superintendent to ensure projects are built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and construction methods for project execution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Assist the estimating team in preparing bids for upcoming projects.
Solve problems proactively and support day-to-day operations of heavy civil projects.
Monitor project finances, schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.
BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
5–10 years of experience in heavy highway or heavy civil construction, with project financial and schedule management experience.
Experience estimating heavy civil or highway projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software (P6). Experience with Viewpoint and HCSS is a plus.
Licensed Professional Engineer or DBIA certification is preferred but not required.
Work is primarily on construction sites; exposure to outdoor elements and heavy equipment is expected.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs, walk/stand for extended periods, and wear required PPE including steel-toed boots.
Tasks include climbing, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces as needed.
