Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Lead commercial and residential projects from preconstruction through final closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules while coordinating closely with the Superintendent and field team. Serve as a primary liaison between the client, architect, engineering team, and subcontractors. Oversee project financial performance, including budgets, commitments, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents in detail to identify potential issues before they impact the project.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure construction progresses according to the project plan.
• Monitor project milestones and proactively address issues that could affect schedule or successful delivery.
• Provide clients and architects with ongoing project updates and lead regular project-status discussions.
• Review change orders and project costs to maintain strong cost controls.
• Partner with Superintendents to maintain standards for job-site execution and quality.
• Manage punch-list completion, closeout documentation, as-built information, required approvals/certifications, and final project financial reconciliation.
• Maintain strong, transparent relationships with clients and project partners with an emphasis on repeat business.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of construction project management experience, preferably with a NYC general contractor or construction manager.
• Strong knowledge of NYC construction practices and occupied/high-rise building environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, schedules, budgets, and change orders.
• Comfortable overseeing subcontractor buyout, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and project completion.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and financially conscious.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor"s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role in New York City and Long Island. The work environment involves navigating NYC metro construction and occupied building environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
