Assistant Project Manager

• Support Project Managers in managing multiple heavy civil, sitework, infrastructure, and landscaping construction projects.
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Assist with project scheduling and coordination of field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Monitor project budgets, cost reports, job progress, and productivity metrics.
• Coordinate material procurement and ensure timely delivery of equipment and resources.
• Assist with contract administration and maintain accurate project records.
• Attend project meetings, client meetings, and site visits as required.
• Collaborate with Superintendents and field personnel to resolve project challenges and maintain project momentum.
• Track project milestones and assist in maintaining project schedules and deliverables.
• Help ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.
• Support closeout activities including punch lists, final documentation, and turnover packages.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and inspectors.

• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Field Engineer, or similar construction management role.
• Experience within heavy civil construction, sitework, excavation, utilities, roadway, infrastructure, or self-performing contractors is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction project administration, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across office and field teams.
• Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, Viewpoint, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
• Union construction experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to visit project sites throughout New Jersey as required.
