Position Overview:
The Assistant Retail Manager supports the daily operations of our Trading Post retail space, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and high-energy retail experience that extends the impact of The Minecraft Experience. This role blends leadership, operations, and guest engagement—helping drive sales, manage staff, and maintain a visually compelling and well-stocked store. As a key leader on the floor, you’ll role model exceptional service and help create a memorable final impression for every guest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Experience Manager in overseeing daily operations and team performance
- Will be on-site at times when Experience Manager is out or off, and will be in charge of the operation in manager’s absence
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest service and engagement
- Supervise, coach, and motivate Retail Sales Associates during shifts
- Assist in training of new team members
- Monitor sales performance and help drive revenue through upselling and product storytelling
- Ensure retail environment is visually appealing, on-brand, and aligned with the Minecraft Experience
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving and restocking
- Help manage daily scheduling and break coverage during peak periods
- Support loss prevention initiatives
- Ensure adherence to company policies
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including reporting and reconciliation
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, especially for youth and families
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Square POS systems, inventory xxzpjkt tools, and basic retail reporting
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain present and move throughout the store for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with stock handling
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
