Assistant Superintendent- Commercial Construction

Assistant Superintendent 

 This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their construction management career while working alongside experienced Superintendents on complex public-sector projects. You'll play an integral role in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a safe and productive jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in managing daily construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or quality concerns.
• Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Conduct regular site walks to monitor workmanship, safety, and productivity.
• Assist with project scheduling, sequencing, and logistics.
• Help coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial or public works construction.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar field leadership role preferred.
• Experience working for a General Contractor is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is a plus.
