Assistant Super
Family owned firm, in business for decades, is looking for an Assistant Super to join their team in CT! They have grown substantially over the past 20 years into one of New England's premier GCs! Build high-profile projects up to $120M across various sectors: Multifamily, Senior living, Mixed-use, Hotels, Academic - special projects division for life science & TI work. Large enough to have a significant & stable pipeline of projects, small enough where you are not just a number.
Must have concrete & steel experience!
The Assistant Super is responsible for:
- Onsite daily in New London CT
- Working closely with Lead Superintendent in the day to day management of the project's construction plan.
- Assisting in the administration of the Safety Program, including pre-construction meetings, pre-task planning, daily monitoring, and enforcement of all applicable safety requirements.
- Communicating clear expectations for safety to project teams with the goal of zero incidents/accidents.
- Assisting the team in maintaining and distribution of the construction documents to subcontractors, including Plans, Specifications, RFI's, Bulletins, and Field Reports.
- Verifying subcontractor layout to ensure compliance with established line and grade, rough openings and other important dimensions.
- Administering Quality Management Program, specifically the First Delivery and Benchmark Inspections.
- Documenting any deficiencies and assist in tracking them to final resolution.
- Continuously monitoring job progress on-site, checking all work to ensure compliance with Contract Documents
- Monitoring and documenting daily construction activities for assigned areas or scope using written reports, photographs, sketches, and other software tools.
- Helping create and distribute daily and weekly work plans to the project team, including schedules and logistics plans.
- Attending and participating in weekly and/or monthly meetings with customers and clients providing updates on the status of construction and addressing concerns of said customers and clients.
- Compiling and maintaining all permits, testing, and inspections required for successful project completion and acceptance related to assigned area or scopes.

The right Assistant Super has the following qualifications:
- 3-7+ years of Assistant Superintendent / Field experience with a Commercial GC
- MUST HAVE concrete and steel experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Strong working knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination
- Experience working on projects $20M+ (ideally wood frame multifamily)
- Familiarity with jobsite safety standards, OSHA requirements, and NFPA 241 compliance
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and schedules
- Experience with QA/QC processes, inspections, punch lists, and field documentation
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and PlanGrid
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills with the ability to support a Lead Superintendent
