We are seeking a Building and Construction Assistant Superintendent to support the execution of commercial construction projects in Philadelphia. This position is ideal for a construction professional looking to advance their field leadership career while working with experienced Superintendents on high-profile projects. They will help coordinate daily jobsite operations, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Description

  • Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations and project execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
  • Monitor project schedules and help ensure milestone completion.
  • Support jobsite safety initiatives and enforce OSHA compliance.
  • Perform routine quality control inspections and documentation.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  • Participate in subcontractor meetings and daily coordination activities.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
  • Assist with site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce planning.
  • Identify and help resolve field issues before they impact project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and project records.
  • Support project closeout activities, punch lists, and turnover procedures.

Profile

A successful Building and Construction Assistant Superintendent should have:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, field engineering, or assistant superintendent roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
