Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Part Time

Shift: Day/ Evening 6am-7:30pm

SALARY RANGE: 17.83 - 26.75 HOURLY

General Summary:

Assists in planning and performing a wide variety of activities related to the care and development of children - age 8 weeks to 5 years.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides and maintains safe, healthy, and organized classrooms throughout the Center.

2. Maintains the care and well-being of the children throughout the Center.

3. Assists classroom teacher in planning and conducting age-appropriate activities for children.

4. Assist with monitoring tracking of children's developmental assessment goals and objectives.

5. Proactively assists with other assignments, as needed.

6. Gives special attention and caring toward Center children and meeting child care needs.

7. Promotes children's wellness by following Center Sick Guidelines and Standard Precautions.

8. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Also requires: Candidate must also qualify based on one of the defined Delaware DOE requirement pathways for Early Childhood Assistant Teacher.

• Credential(s): Delaware Educator Data System Certification

Heartsaver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained.

• Experience: Required: Six months' experience working with preschool age or younger children in a group setting. Preferred: At least one year working with young children in a Child Care Center or school setting

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Associate Degree

Early Childhood Education

Or Associate's Degree in child development.
