Children's Cottage of Wilmington is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support in the following age groups: Preschool, Pre-K and School Age

 To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks.  A plus if you have previous childcare experience and EDU-119!  

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, Full time, 8:30am-5:30pm OR Part time, 1-5:30pm

Compensation:  $15-$18 hr; based on education and experience

 Main Job Responsibilities:  

• Support lead teacher in lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.  
• Use our parent communication app efficiently.  
  
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children. 
  
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.  
  
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May. 
  
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs. 
  
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role. 
  
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
