Assistant Warehouse Manager

• Assist in the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping activities.
• Monitor and drive performance metrics related to receiving accuracy, on-time shipments, order quality, inventory accuracy, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Directly supervise warehouse team leads and support staff across receiving, shipping, and distribution functions.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop warehouse employees on operational procedures, warehouse systems, and safety requirements.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Plan staffing levels and schedules to ensure operational coverage and meet customer demand requirements.
• Oversee the complete order fulfillment process, including allocation, picking, packing, and shipment activities.
• Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy by managing cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution.
• Ensure warehouse equipment and facilities are properly maintained, coordinating repairs and replacement as needed.
• Enforce warehouse security procedures and safeguard inventory, equipment, and operational assets.
• Develop, maintain, and update warehouse operating procedures, work instructions, and training documentation.
• Support the creation and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in warehouse optimization, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A successful Warehouse Assistant Manager should have:

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of warehouse leadership experience in a lead, supervisor, or management role within a high-volume distribution or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving processes, safety procedures, and carrier compliance requirements.
• Experience leading, training, and developing warehouse teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime during peak business periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP, EDI, and warehouse management platforms.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities.
• Experience supporting process improvement and warehouse optimization projects.
