A respected California law firm is seeking an attorney to join its Community Association practice. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor, solving practical legal issues, and working directly with clients on a wide variety of governance and operational matters.

Previous experience representing homeowners associations is beneficial but not required. Attorneys with backgrounds in real estate, corporate, business, municipal, transactional, or general civil practice who are interested in expanding into a specialized area of law are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as primary legal counsel to community associations and their management teams.
  • Guide clients through governance, operational, and compliance-related legal matters.
  • Prepare and revise governing documents, policies, resolutions, and other legal instruments.
  • Research and interpret California laws affecting common interest developments.
  • Advise clients on board procedures, elections, rule enforcement, and risk management strategies.
  • Participate in board meetings as a legal advisor, including occasional evening meetings conducted virtually or in person.
  • Work alongside litigation attorneys when legal disputes require additional support.

What We're Looking For

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • At least three years of legal experience in a transactional, advisory, real estate, business, municipal, or related practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Confidence interacting with clients in meeting and presentation settings.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to providing practical, client-focused legal solutions.
  • Community association experience is welcomed but not necessary for candidates eager to learn.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive starting salary
  • Performance-based bonus program.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Employer-sponsored retirement plan.
  • Paid time off and firm-recognized holidays.
  • Hybrid work flexibility.
  • Ongoing mentoring, CLE assistance, and opportunities for professional growth.

Why This Opportunity?

This position offers the chance to establish yourself in a growing legal niche while working with experienced attorneys who value mentorship, collaboration, and long-term career development. You'll have meaningful client interaction, a diverse caseload, and the support needed to continue building your practice in a stable and rewarding environment.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
