Law Office of Lawrence M. Centanni, P.C. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly organized Associate Attorney to join our established and growing law practice in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
The law office concentrates in landlord-tenant law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, litigation arising from them.
We are looking for an attorney who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership of assigned matters, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful responsibility, courtroom experience, and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Handle residential and commercial landlord-tenant matters, including court appearances, motions, hearings, and trials.
- Manage civil and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
- Represent clients in negotiations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
- Assist with residential and commercial real estate transactions.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Independently manage assigned matters, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing law required.
- Active New Jersey Bar admission and good standing required.
- Litigation experience required
- Real estate experience is a plus.
- Landlord-tenant experience is desirable.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate deadlines, and manage multiple matters.
- Professionalism, accountability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
