Job Description

Shegerian & Associates, a premier plaintiff-side employment law firm with offices in California and New York, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its growing team. We represent workers who have been wrongfully terminated, harassed, and discriminated against, and we are known for record-setting verdicts and settlements, landmark rulings, and a commitment to developing exceptional advocates.

This role offers ownership of a caseload focused primarily on pre-litigation matters, with opportunities to support litigated cases through depositions, motion practice, and trial prep. The ideal candidate is a driven advocate who can evaluate claims, negotiate strong resolutions, and move cases efficiently.

Handling Cases (primarily pre-litigation)

  • Evaluate new matters, analyze claims, and develop case theory early.
  • Draft demand letters.
  • Prepare and file administrative complaints and charges.
  • Negotiate settlements and attend mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and manage expectations throughout the process.
  • Assist with tasks on other matters as needed from time to time, which may include:
    • Taking and defending depositions.
    • Attending hearings and arguing motions.
    • Preparing trial pleadings, motions in limine, trial briefs, etc.
    • Drafting and responding to discovery.
    • Drafting complaints and other pleadings.

"At Shegerian & Associates, you're surrounded by people who are genuinely invested in your success, colleagues who challenge you, staff who have your back, and leadership that makes time for you."

If you want a career that matters, this is where you build it.

Requirements
