Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala PLLC (PCVA), a dynamic law firm with a team of 36 accomplished attorneys, is seeking a talented and dedicated Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to join our national litigation practice group. The is a full-time position in Seattle, WA.Our firm continues to expand, and this position will focus on the growing practice of seeking justice for people, with a special focus on sexual abuse survivors, individuals who suffered catastrophic injuries, and individuals facing wrongful death cases. This position is ideal for a junior to mid-level attorney who seeks to represent individuals involved in complex litigation, and who would like to gain trial experience. PCVA remains a smaller firm, so you will be entrusted with more responsibility and ownership of complex cases than your peers at large firms. To that end, our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a passion for litigation, and the people-skills to work with our clients as they navigate the legal system.As an Associate Attorney at PCVA, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients by handling many aspects of litigation, which may include:Managing cases from inception to completionMaintaining strong client relationshipsDrafting persuasive motions and confidently presenting arguments in courtSkillfully conducting and defending depositionsSuccessfully taking cases to trialOur ideal candidate will have:A strong interest in complex plaintiffs' personal injury litigation and a passion for advocating on behalf of individuals, including, especially, survivors of childhood sexual abuse3-5 years of experience in civil litigation (clerking after bar admission will be considered)Experience running their own casesOutstanding interpersonal and communication skillsExceptional research and writing abilitiesA robust work ethic and meticulous attention to detail, including the capacity to multi-task under pressureThe ability to quickly issue- spot, and develop theories of liabilityExceptional oral advocacy skillsA valid license to practice law in Washington, with experience practicing in New York, New Jersey or California being a valuable additionThe total compensation structure for this role provides an annual salary plus a generous bonus program which rewards experience and performance. The salary range for an attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience is $205,000 to $225,000 and including bonus potential, our associates received total compensation ranging between $250,000 and $500,000 in recent years.Our bonus structure is comprised of two components. The first, an objective bonus, is triggered when the firm successfully achieves its annual revenue target. The second component is a subjective bonus, allocated at the end of the year, which is designed to recognize individual performance.As a contingency-based firm, we operate under the principle that our victories are shared ones.
