Role Description The Associate Attorney role is a full-time, on-site position located in Spokane, WA. This role involves handling litigation and transactional matters, including drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to construction, real estate, and business law. The Associate Attorney will conduct legal research, provide well-reasoned legal advice to clients, participate in negotiations, and assist with case strategy and preparation for hearings, mediations, and trials. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with partners and team members, managing case files and deadlines, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and supporting the firm’s commitment to ethical, client-focused representation.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation and business law, with the ability to apply legal principles to construction, real estate, and commercial matters.

• Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it relates to workplace issues, contracts, and compliance in business and construction contexts.
• \n
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to businesses and individuals, including risk assessment, contract interpretation, and strategic guidance.
• \n
• Proficiency in legal Research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and industry-specific issues relevant to public works and construction projects.
• \n
• Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, drafting settlements, and advocating for clients’ interests in discussions with opposing parties.

• Active admission to the Washington State Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission.
• \n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in drafting and reviewing legal documents.

• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively in a small-firm environment.

• Prior experience in construction law, real estate, public works, or commercial litigation is preferred but not required.
