About the Role

To achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven has partnered with the University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) to serve nearly 1,500 students within the next five years. In support of this goal, Braven is hiring a high-energy Associate, Campus Engagement, who will build excitement and awareness for the Braven Accelerator course at UMSV, engaging 275-300 students each academic year. You will work closely with central and regional teammates to help you reach your goals. You will help build and maintain a positive Braven presence on campus.

This role is part of the New York City regional team and reports directly to the Senior Director of UMSV.

What You’ll Do

Student Awareness and Engagement (50%)

• Develop vision, strategy, and innovative approaches (social media, word of mouth, campus events) to effectively build excitement and retain students in the Braven course during the academic year 
• Use Salesforce and Google Suite to assist with tracking recruitment data, operations, and pipelines 
• Help organize and support informational presentations and materials
• Host and coordinate marketing & branding events to raise awareness among students
• Help collect feedback and data on engagement strategies, and share insights with Braven staff 
• Analyze student Net Promoter Score data with the Senior Director to inform engagement strategy 

Social Media and Marketing (20%)

• Create and manage Braven UMSV social media account, and support the Social Media and Marketing Committee in creating posts, graphics, one-pagers, flyers, etc
• Share design input and feedback with Braven’s External Affairs team on marketing materials and campaigns
• Collect and share compelling stories with the Communications Team and NYC regional External Affairs staff

Stakeholder Management (15%)

• Support the cultivation and management of key relationships such as professors, student organizations, and campus partners, such as career services and student affairs
• Create new ways for students to learn more about the Braven course  
• Assess strategies employed and make informed improvements based on the gathering of quantitative, qualitative, and anecdotal data to present to key stakeholders 

Team Management and Culture (15%)

• Participate in virtual and in-person team meetings, training, and planning sessions 
• Participate in synchronous/asynchronous Pre-Accelerator meetings and training 

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support campus engagement and Braven’s mission
• Recruit and train student volunteers known as Braven Ambassadors

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Work Experience: 1-3 years of experience with a track record of success in student engagement, recruitment, and/or social media or other marketing channels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent UMSV graduates, alumni, or currently enrolled graduate students
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Jira
• Ability to quickly build positive working relationships and identify strategically important relationships 
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking skills
• Proven ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans, meeting milestones and deadlines
• Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability, excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and is comfortable with ambiguity
• Exemplification of Braven’s core values
• Experiences that have informed your belief in Braven’s mission and prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population

Work Demands

• Ability to work in-person in the Braven NYC office 3 days per week 
• Work on the University of Mount Saint Vincent campus on additional days outside the required 3 days in the office during peak course registration seasons 
• Travel to 3-4 events per semester 
• Ability to attend 3-4 events during the weekend per semester
• Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up to 20-50 pounds for various marketing & branding events (tabling, presentations, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits

Braven offers opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly relative to one another, their qualifications, and their impact on the organization, and we take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead, each offer is carefully determined using external and internal benchmarks.

The hiring range is determined by role scope, qualifications, and internal equity, with annual growth based on performance. Braven does not base compensation on individual candidate salary expectations and is committed to maintaining internal equity. The hiring ranges for this role by geographic market are set forth in New York City at $69,000-$74,100. This is based on a 50-hour work week. This is a full-time, regular, exempt, and benefits-eligible position where you will be working at 100% capacity.

Location

We gather in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) and work remotely 2 days a week (Monday and Friday). Therefore, this role requires teammates to live within commuting distance of our New York City office. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face, and we believe in giving people the flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
