Why do we need you ?

We are seeking an Associate Category Manager to support sourcing strategy and supplier management for key raw material categories supporting the IPG businesses, including Architectural, Insulation, Gypsum Board, and Finishing. This role will support approximately $10MM to $20MM in annual spend across the U.S. and Canada and will play an important part in ensuring competitive pricing, reliable supply, strong supplier performance, and alignment with business priorities.

This is a highly visible role that requires strong business partnership, market insight, negotiation capability, and the ability to translate sourcing strategies into measurable business impact. The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing sites, suppliers, R&D, Finance, Legal, Purchasing, and business leaders to support cost management, risk mitigation, innovation, and supply continuity.

• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for assigned raw material categories in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead supplier negotiations, RFPs, and sourcing events to secure competitive pricing, service, quality, and supply continuity.
• Build market intelligence for assigned categories, including supplier landscape, cost drivers, indices, logistics, tariffs, and broader industry trends.
• Partner with R&D, manufacturing sites, and business stakeholders to evaluate suppliers, support trials, qualify alternate sources, and implement sourcing decisions.
• Identify and lead cost savings, risk mitigation, innovation, VAVE, and vendor partnership opportunities with key suppliers.
• Negotiate and implement formal supplier agreements in partnership with Legal and other internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate across CertainTeed business units to create cross-functional sourcing strategies that support the broader interests of the company.
• Ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain and regional purchasing policies, including supplier charter requirements, ProSource usage, ProcureNet contract management, and applicable internal controls.
• Maintain accurate purchasing master data, including material master, vendor master, contracts, and info records.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor category performance, supplier performance, market activity, and sourcing progress.
• Support budget, forecast, RF, and purchasing reporting processes as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with site buyers and cross-functional partners to understand service levels, quality needs, supplier responsiveness, and operational priorities.

Is this job for you ?

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, or category management, preferably within construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Experience leading high-spend or complex RFPs and supplier negotiations.
• Strong understanding of supplier relationship management, contracts, and the procure-to-pay process.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze market data, and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly present recommendations and updates to senior leaders.
• Ability to work effectively across business units, functions, manufacturing sites, and global teams.
• Professional judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to remain organized and effective in a fast-paced environment.
