Position Summary
The Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing will lead strategic sourcing initiatives and category management activities supporting Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC), Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance (QA) functions. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, driving value creation, mitigating supply risk, and ensuring alignment with business objectives in a dynamic and highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
The successful candidate will partner closely with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to support clinical and commercial programs while ensuring continuity of supply, quality compliance, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Develop and execute category strategies for CMC, Supply Chain, and Quality-related spend categories, including but not limited to:
Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs)
Support analytical and CMC activities
Raw materials, APIs, excipients, and packaging components
Logistics, transportation and warehousing services
Quality and compliance consulting services
Conduct market assessments, supplier evaluations, and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
Lead competitive sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
