Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Pennoni is currently seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to work out of our Philadelphia, PA office to perform the following, but not limited to:

• Coordinate subsurface explorations and laboratory testing with project engineers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate field and laboratory data; analyze foundations, settlement, earthwork, and slope stability.
• Develop recommendations and prepare calculations and technical reports for senior-engineer review.
• Coordinate assigned tasks with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and field personnel.
• Provide geotechnical construction support, including foundation and earthwork observations and evaluation of field conditions.
• Track assigned deliverables; communicate technical issues, progress, and schedule needs.

Required Attributes

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Geotech concentration).
• 3-5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with subsurface investigations, geotechnical calculations, and technical reporting.
• Ability to work in both office and field settings.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field assignments.

Preferred Attributes

• EIT and progress toward PE licensure.
• Experience with foundation design, settlement analysis, slope stability, and construction-phase
• geotechnical support.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with geotechnical analysis software, AutoCAD, or Openground.
• Ability to organize concurrent assignments and communicate clearly with project teams and clients.
