The Opportunity

An Am Law 100 international law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing insurance coverage practice in Miami.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career litigator interested in developing meaningful insurance coverage expertise while working on sophisticated, high-value matters for U.S. and international insurers.

The practice handles coverage litigation and market-conduct/bad-faith matters throughout the United States, offering exposure to complex policy analysis, litigation strategy, and nationally significant disputes.

Practice Focus

The team handles matters involving:

• Commercial General Liability (CGL)
• Commercial Property
• Business Interruption
• Pollution Claims
• Professional Liability / Errors & Omissions
• Lawyers, Agents & Accountants E&O
• Directors & Officers (D&O) Coverage
• Market Conduct and Bad-Faith Litigation

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and underlying claims
• Draft coverage opinions and provide coverage recommendations to insurer clients
• Conduct sophisticated legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and Nexis
• Draft interrogatories, document demands, and other discovery materials
• Review documents and develop files in preparation for litigation
• Assist with litigation strategy and case development
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
• Work alongside experienced insurance coverage attorneys on complex matters throughout the United States

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar admission
• 2+ years of litigation experience
• Strong academic credentials, including Law Review and/or academic honors
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
• Interest in developing substantive insurance coverage expertise

Insurance coverage, bad-faith, commercial litigation, professional liability, or other relevant insurance-related experience would be particularly valuable.
