Description

As a Collections and Repossession Associate Manager, you will help manage Tesla's North American captive vehicle leasing, vehicle loan, energy loan and energy lease portfolio. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Manager to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing collections activity, leading a collections team, coordinating recovery and repossession efforts, and driving timely resolution of delinquent accounts across the captive portfolios. You will partner closely with program managers to document requirements and align collection workflows with product and portfolio needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-paced environment, balances multiple deadlines and demonstrates strong communication skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor/manage aging reports as well as identify and prioritize accounts requiring immediate collection action for the Captive
  • Track delinquency rates, cure performance, and recovery outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable consumer credit and collections regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to execute repossession, enhancement requirements and loss-mitigation strategies
  • Contact customers regarding overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Investigate payment discrepancies and resolve billing disputes in coordination with collection team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in Auto finance with hands-on collections or credit experience
  • Portfolio risk management, including delinquency tracking and trend analysis
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or French a plus

Expected Compensation

$80,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
