Pay Range: $27.50hr - $33.00hr
Job Overview:
The candidate will perform the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies for optical modules.
Primary Responsibility:
- Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
- Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
- Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.
- May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
- Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
- May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
Leveling Requirements:
- Skill: Acquires job skills and learns organization policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Applies acquired job skills and organization policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making. Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
- Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.
- Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience and/or a Bachelor's degree.
Optical Assembly of Modules:
- Build, inspect, and test optical modules.
- Follow procedures and checklists in order to build modules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues pertaining to optical assembly.
- Make sure specs are met during optical assembly and testing.
- Work inside a class 100 cleanroom.
- Ability to use and manipulate a variety of fine adjustment hand tools, torque wrenches, and calipers.
- Demonstrated excellent organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management, and task prioritization.
- Dedicated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work with little or no instruction on routine work, and with general instructions on new assignments.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate effectively within and across teams, and strive for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends.
Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to bend.
- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
