About the Role:
The Associate Portfolio Manager will support the High Yield investment team in managing portfolios across multiple strategies. They will work under the direction of the Senior Portfolio Manager and will leverage the full team to execute on assigned portfolios.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Support portfolio construction by assisting with positioning across sectors, ratings, and risk profiles, while monitoring exposures, liquidity, and key risk metrics
Translate credit research into actionable investment ideas and evaluate relative value across issuers, sectors, and capital structures
Analyze portfolio performance and attribution, identifying key contributors and detractors to inform positioning decisions
Monitor macro, technical, and fundamental drivers impacting markets and contribute to investment discussions and strategy reviews
Assist in preparing client presentations and investor communications, helping articulate portfolio strategy, positioning, and outlook
Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and traders, actively participating in team meetings and investment processes
Support development and enhancement of portfolio analytics, tools, and investment frameworks
Contribute to continuous improvement of portfolio construction processes and risk management discipline
Requirements for the Role:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline required; CFA designation or progress toward CFA is an asset
2+ years of industry experience, ideally supporting an investment team or investment-related function
Foundational knowledge of corporate investing, capital structures, and valuation methodologies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply insights to investment research, portfolio construction, or trading
Experience with portfolio analytics and risk management tools preferred
Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Aladdin tools and AI-driven models is a plus
Ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment under uncertainty, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
