    Job Description

Associate Project Manager: Enterprise Cloud Observability

    About Us:
NoBS Tech is the only consulting company in the world 100% focused on Datadog. Enterprise teams come to us when their observability is noisy, expensive, or both: alerts nobody trusts, custom metrics nobody can explain, dashboards nobody opens. Turning observability into real business outcomes isn’t an afterthought for us, it’s usually our only thought.

A Note From Your Future Manager:

“I was our first Project Manager, and I built the delivery process you’ll be running. Now I need someone to help run it, and to tell me where it could be better. I won’t hand you a project and disappear. You’ll sit in on kickoffs before you lead your own, and when you do lead one, I’ll be on the call to introduce myself as your escalation point. Then it’s yours.

Every one of our projects is a unique snowflake where adapting to supporting each of our clients according to their different needs, structures, and personalities is critical in this role. I care less about which methodology you know and more about whether you’re comfortable adapting and always willing to learn. That’s part of the job for all of us.”

    The Role:
You’ll own our smaller customer engagements end to end and support our larger enterprise implementations. Small projects are still customer projects. How they run shapes what every customer thinks of NoBS, and you’ll be the one running them.

    Your First 90 Days:

    • Month 1 | Learn the System: Support scheduling, agendas, and recaps on our larger implementations. Shadow kickoffs and status calls.
    • Month 2 | Co-Run: Build schedules and draft status reports with your manager reviewing them. Co-lead your first kickoff.
    • Month 3 | Own It: Take your first small projects end to end, and work toward a portfolio of up to five.

    What You’ll Own:
Reality Checks, T&M Engagements, and Monthly Support

    • The Whole Arc: Pre-kickoff kickoff status calls and progress reports wrap-up and next steps
    • Getting Engineers in the Door: You chase access prerequisites so work starts on day one, not day five.
    • Weekly Status Reports and Risk Tracking: You write them, check them against reality, and send them.
    • The Calendar: You keep our engineers and the customer’s team in sync across time zones.
    • Scope: In partnership with your manager, plus keeping Datadog reps in the loop when needed
    How We Deliver:
We lean traditional, with some Agile mixed in, and we don’t run sprints. Projects usually start linear, with discovery, tagging, and agent deployment. They then branch into parallel implementation workstreams before knowledge transfer and closeout. Deliverables ship piece by piece rather than all at the end. Fixed-fee scopes hold firm, and everything else flexes with customer feedback.

    About You:
    • 2+  years of Project Management or Coordination experience: Ideally with external customers in a technical or consulting environment
    • Organized without being Rigid: You can keep ten projects moving without dropping a thread, and adjust when one goes sideways.
    • Clear Writer: People actually read your status reports, agendas, and recaps.
    • Surfacing Early: When something’s stuck, you flag it before it becomes a fire.
    • You Verify: “Access should be granted” isn’t the same as access being granted, so you confirm.
    • Communicate Directly: We practice “Radical Best Intent”: we address problems head-on, without sugarcoating.
    • Curious about the Tech: You won’t configure Datadog yourself, but you’ll want to understand what our engineers are doing and why.
    Nice to Have:
    • Familiarity with Datadog (big plus)
      • Proximity to users and use cases would be helpful towards onboarding quickly!
    • Any other kind of Observability experience other than Datadog would also be a plus…
      • Ideally, familiarity with some of the broad concepts that our work revolves around (i.e. Network, Infrastructure, Security, On-Prem/Cloud)
    • Private Sector experience - in any capacity (i.e. sales, consulting, project management, engineering) also a plus!
    Why NoBS?
Learn from and work directly with a PM who’s crushing it. Own your projects and your customers from early on, with a real path to grow. No bureaucracy or big egos.

We’re NoBS.tech. The name is the Promise.
