Payrate: $24.00- $25.50/hr.
 
Summary
The Company is seeking a motivated laboratory professional to support early discovery research programs through in vitro tissue culture experimentation and laboratory-based studies. This role involves planning, conducting, monitoring, analyzing, and documenting experiments with minimal supervision while generating reliable and reproducible data. The successful candidate will contribute to assay development, mechanism testing, evaluation of early lead molecules, and support activities related to cardiovascular and bone research portfolios. The position requires strong laboratory benchwork capabilities, scientific problem-solving skills, and experience working in a biopharmaceutical environment.
 
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory experiments following established protocols and experimental designs with limited supervision.
  • Plan, monitor, conduct, analyze, and accurately document experimental studies and results.
  • Generate high-quality, reproducible, and reliable data to support research objectives.
  • Conduct in vitro tissue culture experimentation and related laboratory benchwork to advance early discovery programs.
  • Test biological mechanisms, develop assays, and evaluate the function of early-stage lead molecules.
  • Process downstream rodent tissues and provide assay support for ongoing research projects within cardiovascular and bone portfolios.
  • Transfer experimental methods from scientific literature into the laboratory environment and adapt procedures as necessary.
  • Develop and implement new laboratory protocols with moderate review and oversight.
  • Interpret experimental findings and communicate effectively to project teams and work groups.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and contribute technical expertise to ongoing research activities.
  • Utilize standard laboratory equipment and specialized laboratory instruments or techniques effectively and safely.
  • Troubleshoot experimental challenges, instrumentation issues, and technical obstacles as they arise.
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes that support data quality and integrity.
  • Support the preparation of internal and external reports, presentations, publications, regulatory documentation, invention disclosures, and patent-related materials.
  • Participate in department-wide initiatives, including laboratory safety programs, recruiting activities, and committee assignments.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members when required and assist with supervision-related activities as assigned.
  • Coordinate resources, materials, and schedules necessary for successful completion of research activities.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding independent decision-making and appropriately seek input when needed.
  • Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with applicable protocols, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
 
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
 
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or research environment.
  • Experience working within a biopharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience conducting laboratory experiments with limited supervision and analyzing research data.
  • Experience supporting scientific research through laboratory benchwork and experimental methodologies.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $24.00 - $25.50 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
