About the Department

The Enterprise Data, Governance & Integration Platforms Engineering team builds and manages foundational data, API, integration, and application platforms that enable scalable, secure, and reliable data, analytics, AI, and business solutions across the enterprise.

The team develops cloud-native services, modern web applications, APIs, and reusable platform capabilities using AWS, Azure, modern software engineering practices, CI/CD automation, and AI-assisted development. We partner with application development, data, infrastructure, security, governance, and AI teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.

How You Will Add Value

Core Responsibilities

• You will develop and maintain modern web applications using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• You will develop and enhance backend services and REST APIs using Python/Java/Spring Boot or Node.js.
• You will build reusable UI components and deliver responsive, accessible, and user-friendly application experiences.
• You will integrate applications with enterprise APIs, data services, workflow systems, and other platform capabilities.
• You will implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Okta, or similar enterprise identity technologies.
• You will write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established software engineering, security, and coding standards.
• You will contribute to automated testing, Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment processes.
• You will support application monitoring, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and defect resolution.
• You will use AI-assisted development tools and coding assistants to improve development, testing, debugging, and documentation while following enterprise security and quality standards.
• You will collaborate with software engineers, platform engineers, product teams, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver application capabilities.
• You will communicate and present technical solutions, application features, and demonstrations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, demonstrations, and engineering knowledge-sharing sessions.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience in full-stack, web application, or related software development.
• Hands-on experience with React.js and modern front-end development, including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Backend development experience using Python/Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or Okta.
• Familiarity with AWS or another major cloud platform and basic cloud deployment concepts.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong presentation and collaboration skills, including the ability to demonstrate solutions, participate effectively in technical discussions, and work with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React component architecture, state management, and responsive UI design.
• Familiarity with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with monitoring or observability technologies such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants, AI-enabled development workflows, or Agentic AI concepts.
• Exposure to data platforms, analytics applications, APIs, or enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience working in Agile engineering teams and collaborating across multiple technical and business teams.

Work Schedule & Location

This role will work a hybrid schedule three days per week in our Franklin Templeton location, Baltimore.
