Associate Veterinarian

Want to grow as a veterinarian without sacrificing your time outside the clinic?

This opportunity combines structured mentorship, a varied patient population, and a schedule designed to leave your weekends free.

This full-time role could be an excellent next step for a new graduate seeking hands-on guidance or an experienced veterinarian interested in a supportive team and broader clinical exposure. You’ll have opportunities to develop your skills while caring for an established community of pet owners.

What You'll Find Here

• Mentorship with practical guidance: Newer veterinarians receive structured support, case discussions, and feedback as they build confidence in clinical decision-making.
• More variety in your medicine: Treat both traditional companion animals and select nontraditional pets.
• Room to strengthen your skills: Build experience in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and preventive care.
• A schedule that protects personal time: No regular weekend shifts or on-call responsibilities.
• Production without negative accrual: Quarterly production supplements your base compensation without a negative-accrual structure.
• Help with your transition: Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a general veterinary practice treating dogs, cats, exotic animals, and pocket pets. Your work can include wellness visits, preventive medicine, diagnostic evaluations, soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and client education.

The range of species offers opportunities to broaden your clinical experience while continuing to develop core general-practice skills.

Who Might Love This

This position may appeal to a recent graduate who wants guidance rather than being left to navigate cases alone, or an experienced DVM who enjoys varied cases and collaborative practice. You’ll need a DVM or equivalent degree and a New York veterinary license—or eligibility to obtain one.

A Little About the Area

The greater Syracuse area offers a mix of suburban and smaller-community living, outdoor recreation, and access to the dining, shopping, and cultural amenities of a larger city.
