IDGEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT Dane Street, Director TITLE: Athletics Facilities Manager DEPARTMENT: Ridgefield High School Athletics REPORTS TO: Athletics Director, RHS Principal ___ POSITION DESCRIPTION To support the RHS Athletics department by providing facilities management at all RHS Athletics facilities. Coordination of student workers and game workers for all events and "hands- on" field/gym setup for all RHS athletics events. Coordinate with youth organizations and external user groups for facility rentals and scheduling, and to the Athletics Director through daily administrative tasks and "game day" operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Assists the Athletics Director with organizing the overall program of interscholastic athletics. Supports the Athletics Director in the supervision of athletic contests, including nights and weekends. Assists the Athletics Director with the development and implementation of appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities. Arranges all details of visiting teams and officials' needs as appropriate. Arranges for planning, organizing and conducting staff meetings for game workers, including announcers and scoreboard/video board operators. Assists in the scheduling of RHS Athletics facilities for external user groups in conjunction with the Athletics Director Promotes sportsmanship and demonstrates respect for officials, opponents, and fans while assisting staff in addressing behavior or discipline issues. Helps students understand and embrace ethical conduct Strives to develop a positive rapport with all stakeholders and serve as a positive role model Maintains RHS Athletics facilities, including Tiger Hollow fields and RHS gymnasiums: makes daily preparations for scheduled athletic events and handles cleaning/repairs as needed Arranges all field/track lighting as needed Performs routine maintenance on both turf fields at Tiger Hollow and logs all maintenance/repairs Performs routine maintenance of golf carts and gator vehicles that service the facility Coordinates scheduling of Tiger Hollow for external user groups in conjunction with the Athletics Director May perform additional tasks and duties as requested. 700 North Salem Road · Ridgefield, CT 06877 · Phone: (203) 894-5750 · Fax: (203) 431-2820 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent human relations and organizational skills. SCOPE OF WORK YEAR: Athletics Facilities Manager work will be based on a 45 week calendar at an average of 40 hours a week totaling 1800 hours each school year. Coverage will be provided from the first day of CIAC allowed football practice until the end of spring sport CIAC championships with time on either end for setup/cleanup. It will also include limited summer work. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Education, Sports Management, Athletic Management or Administration is preferred. Valid American Red Cross CPR/AED and Standard First Aid Certificates required Previous experience in facilities management or athletic administration preferred
