Overview: The U.S. Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System is designed to improve Soldier readiness, physical and non-physical performance, reduce injury rates, improve recovery following injury, and increase overall effectiveness across the Total Army. SRI is seeking an Athletic Trainer to serve as an integrated member of the Maneuver Center of Excellence H2F Implementation Team at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The Athletic Trainer will use expertise in musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, athletic training, and human performance to educate and train Brigade H2F Performance Teams, communicate H2F doctrine and best practices, and support standardized implementation of the H2F System. This position does not provide direct clinical care.

The H2F Implementation Team is a mobile interdisciplinary team supporting implementation and standardization of H2F across Army organizations. The position requires approximately 25%-50% travel to Army installations throughout CONUS, with occasional OCONUS travel to locations including Hawaii, Alaska, the Pacific, and Europe.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary H2F Implementation Team and Brigade H2F Performance Teams to educate and train Soldiers and H2F personnel on holistic approaches to Soldier readiness.
• Communicate H2F doctrine, lessons learned, and best practices related to athletic training, musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, and recovery.
• Participate in in-person and virtual pre-implementation planning meetings with HIT and Brigade representatives.
• Develop Athletic Trainer-specific implementation plans based on unit assessments.
• Review unit information, data, culture, history, and operational requirements in preparation for H2F implementation site visits.
• Develop new or modify existing H2F implementation content based on unit needs, subject to Government approval.
• Travel with the HIT to implementation sites and deliver standardized H2F implementation instruction.
• Help Brigade H2F Performance Teams integrate H2F practices within unit training schedules, operational requirements, battle rhythms, and organizational culture.
• Participate in post-implementation meetings to reinforce, supplement, and clarify H2F standards and practices.
• Support virtual H2F implementation activities for Active Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve organizations.
• Participate in periodic meetings with the HIT Program Director and other HIT members.
• Provide reports and recommendations regarding H2F implementation and Soldier/unit progression.
• Track and document questions, concerns, and feedback received from Brigade H2F Performance Teams and leaders.
• Recommend opportunities to improve H2F System implementation.
• Educate and train H2F personnel on strategies required to establish and execute effective athletic training services and programs in accordance with FM 7-22.
• Provide instruction on injury-prevention methods and techniques designed to reduce musculoskeletal injuries.
• Provide education related to injury surveillance and recovery following physical activity.
• Provide recommended instruction and guidance to Brigade leadership and H2F Performance Teams regarding athletic training and injury prevention.
• Teach approaches for building cohesive interdisciplinary H2F teams and strengthening relationships with unit leadership.
• Develop and deliver classroom and field-based instruction, including standardized instruction and workshops.
• Develop course content of similar scope and complexity as required for H2F implementation activities.
• Participate in Government-required training and continuing professional education.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and professional credentials throughout employment.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and other Government systems in support of H2F planning, instruction, documentation, and reporting.
• Travel to implementation sites, meetings, conferences, and training events as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
• Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field such as Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Sports Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of relevant Athletic Trainer experience managing an NCAA, Olympic, military, or professional sports athletic training program.
• Relevant experience must include supervision and/or management of multiple Athletic Trainers and/or sports medicine personnel in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Previous experience in a military environment is preferred.
• Must have achieved a passing score on the Board of Certification examination for Athletic Trainers.
• Current Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC) credential required.
• Must possess and maintain an unrestricted state Athletic Trainer license, registration, or certification as required by the PWS.
• Must possess current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, including Automated External Defibrillator certification.
• Web-based BLS courses do not satisfy the PWS requirement.
• Must be able to teach effectively in classroom and field-training environments.
• Must have experience developing course content of similar scope and complexity.
• Must have experience delivering facilitated and engaging instruction designed to achieve defined learning outcomes.
• Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with Soldiers from diverse backgrounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Must maintain all required certifications, licenses, and credentials throughout employment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 25%-50% of the time, including CONUS and occasional OCONUS travel.
• Must be able to travel on weekends when required.

Security Clearance Requirements:

No classified security clearance is specified in the PWS. Personnel must be U.S. Citizens and must meet applicable installation-access, identity-verification, background-investigation, CAC, and system-access requirements. The Contractor must initiate a Tier 1 investigation for personnel performing under the contract, and personnel requiring Government installation or unclassified DoD system access must meet the applicable CAC requirements.

Work Schedule:

Work is normally performed Monday through Friday during normal business hours, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, mission requirements may require work between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Hours worked during any two-week period shall not exceed 80 hours. Travel may occur on Saturdays and Sundays.
