    SUMMARY

    As an Athletic Trainer, your knowledge of sports medicine combined with your planning and development capabilities allows you to create impactful, comprehensive sports medical programs for the organization and patients

    STATUS: Full-Time

    LOCATION: Henrietta Medical Campus - 50 Middle Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467

    DEPARTMENT: Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

    SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night & weekends. Shifts and weekends vary based on departmental need

    Position Summary

    Coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for designated location(s) and/or organization. The athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Program Development. Implement an overall sports medicine program, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs, and counseling for athletes; collaborate with staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs 

    • Patient Care. Provide athletic training services for athletic department; attend scheduled team practices and competitions as necessary; supervise and evaluate athletes requiring on-field and clinical experience; coordinate/schedule physical exams and medical referrals for athletes to determine ability to compete

    • Budget & Equipment Management. Assist Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer in the management of the budget; keep records, document injuries, and process insurance claims; evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefits of the program

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine

    • Required Licensure/Certification:NATABOC certification, current NYS athletic training license

    • CPR/AED certified

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-5 years of experience in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine preferred

    • Previous experience in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine preferred

    • Familiarity with NJCAA governing rules

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

    For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
