Athletics Coordinator

$27.58/hour; 40 hours/week

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field supplemented by three (3) years of relevant experience
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Event planning experience helpful
• Hours may vary to accommodate events and includes some Saturdays
• Valid South Carolina driver's license

Under general supervision, the Athletics Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates assigned athletic programs and activities for the Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department. This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of athletic programs, leagues, tournaments, facilities, staff, officials, volunteers, and participants. The Athletics Coordinator works closely with league boards and their members to plan and operate athletic programs, establish schedules, address league needs, communicate department policies and procedures, and ensure programs are conducted effectively and consistently. The position serves as a liaison between the Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department, league boards, coaches, officials, participants, parents, and community partners.
