Seeking an experienced Attorney / Associate General Counsel to support healthcare-related administrative and disciplinary matters in Tennessee. The role will focus on handling cases involving licensed healthcare professionals, working with investigators and licensing board consultants, negotiating resolutions, and representing cases before health-related boards. The position also involves managing a substantial caseload and supporting legislative projects and bill analysis as assigned.
Represent the department in administrative law cases before various health-related licensing boards.
Review complaints and investigations involving healthcare licensees across Tennessee’s rural counties.
Provide legal guidance and support to investigators and licensing board consultants.
Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motions, hearings, and trials.
Negotiate resolutions with licensees when formal disciplinary action is warranted.
Manage and prioritize a high-volume caseload across various stages of litigation.
Assist with legislative projects, including research and bill analysis.
Collaborate effectively with legal, investigative, and other internal teams.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
Active Tennessee Bar license in good standing required.
At least 1 year of relevant legal experience preferred.
Prior litigation experience, including trial experience, strongly preferred.
Ability to manage and prioritize a large and varied caseload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
Intellectual curiosity and strong attention to detail.
Writing sample of no more than 10 pages and TN Bar license number must be included with the application.
