    Audit Manager- Not for Profit

    Providence, RI | New York, NY | Hauppauge, NY | Woodcliff Lake, NJ | Cranford, NJ


    We're looking for an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit organizations. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor a growing team, and make a meaningful impact within the not-for-profit sector.


    Qualities:

    • 7+ years of public accounting audit experience, including significant experience serving nonprofit organizations.
    • Active CPA license required.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, FASB standards, and Uniform Guidance (Single Audits).
    • Proven experience leading complex audit engagements and managing client relationships.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week and travel to client sites as needed.


    Responsibilities:

    • Lead nonprofit audit engagements from planning through report issuance.
    • Serve as the primary advisor and day-to-day contact for clients.
    • Review financial statements and audit deliverables while ensuring quality and compliance.
    • Advise clients on internal controls, governance, and operational improvements.
    • Mentor and develop audit staff while managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions and support practice growth.
