Location: Savannah, GA

Overview

a long-established, nationally ranked regional CPA firm in the Southeast is seeking an Audit Manager to lead audit engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the client's first point of contact and a valued business advisor, proactively sharing industry developments and accounting guidance
• Deliver engagements ready for Director/Partner review on time and within budget; keep the Partner informed of status and key issues
• Delegate effectively with attention to engagement economics and team development
• Train staff through on-the-job coaching and internal CPE; provide ongoing feedback and serve as a mentor
• Meet charge-hour and margin goals; participate in billing, scoping and out-of-scope discussions
• Support business development: networking, proposal drafting, prospective client meetings and budget development
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues and complete manager-level reviews under the firm's quality control policies
• Draft client deliverables (financial reports, management letters, governing-body communications) and deliver presentations

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in Accounting
• Active CPA license
• Public accounting experience
• Understanding of industry-specific audit requirements
• Experience managing, coaching and developing staff and multiple audit engagements
• Ability and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel; weekend work may be required
