Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Overview

A local public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager (CPA) in Winston-Salem to manage audit and assurance engagements, develop audit staff, work directly with clients and contribute to firmwide quality management, monitoring and peer review efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial statement audits, reviews, compilations and other assurance engagements from planning through issuance
• Coordinate scheduling, staffing, workflow and deadlines with partners and team
• Lead planning, risk assessment and status meetings; evaluate internal controls and determine audit procedures
• Review workpapers, financial statements and disclosures for accuracy and compliance with standards
• Monitor budgets, realization and billing
• Contribute to the firm quality management system, monitoring, engagement quality reviews and peer review preparation
• Serve as primary contact for assigned clients
• Supervise, coach and develop audit staff and seniors

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• 5-7 years of public accounting audit experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, audit planning, risk assessment and internal controls
• Experience with quality management documentation, monitoring, EQR or peer review strongly preferred
