Join South Carolina state government where you can have a meaningful career, incomparable benefits, and a positive work-life balance!ResponsibilitiesEnsuring audits are in compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Government Auditing Standards.Performing test of various types of audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of current controls.Performing internal audits that are routine and technical in nature.Working on a team for various audit projects.Interviewing and engaging with clients during the planning phase of the audit and documenting conversations had regarding the entrance and exit conferences.Ensuring that all issues and recommendations are properly supported.Ensuring that audit reports are accurate, concise, thorough, relevant, and timely.Conducting exit meeting to be held with the engagement client and the details will be communicated as per the agreed upon terms.Assisting in the preparation of the agency's internal annual risk assessment by conducting interviews with the program areas and compiling the information received for evaluation.Conducting exit conferences and collecting corrective action plans.Monitoring and following-up on corrective actions plans to ensure that they are being executed.Monitoring the agency incident response to ensure that the appropriate processes and actions have been taken.Monitoring and tracking the results of penetration testing performed by 3rd parties.Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agency business continuity plan.QualificationsA bachelor's degree and experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis. An associate's degree with multiple accounting courses or relevant work experience with a year-for-year equivalency may be considered.Interview RequirementsOfficial 10-year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles must be brought to the interview.
