Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Technician to join our team and help provide safe, dependable mobility solutions for our customers. This position is responsible for diagnosing, installing, maintaining, and repairing wheelchair-accessible vehicles and adaptive driving equipment. This includes servicing lifts, ramps, hand controls, transfer seats, power kneel systems, and secondary battery systems.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and takes pride in quality work. The Technician must ensure all modifications meet manufacturer specifications and customer safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install adaptive driving equipment such as hand controls, transfer seat bases, power lock down devices, and scooter lifts.
  • Diagnose and repair wheelchair-accessible vehicles modified by BraunAbility, Vantage Mobility, and other major brands.
  • Perform diagnostics and preventive maintenance on wheelchair lifts, interlocks, and electrical systems.
  • Wire and test auxiliary battery setups, relays, and inverter systems.
  • Ensure NMEDA QAP compliance on every install
  • Use schematics, service manuals, and OEM documentation for accurate repairs.
  • Document all work performed using shop software or repair orders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and keep up with required certifications.
  • Assist with inspections and state compliance as needed.
  • Occasionally assist with road tests and delivery of finished vehicles.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mechanical or electrical experience (automotive, RV, or upfitting preferred)
  • Strong understanding of 12V wiring and basic fabrication
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a variety of positions
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
