AutoCAD designer

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced AutoCAD designer in Marinette, WI. Our client is a building automation industry Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Designer to develop detailed 2D layouts and technical drawings for mechanical, piping, fire suppression, and associated control systems used in commercial and high-rise building applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, excellent blueprint interpretation abilities, and experience working with complex building plans. This position requires the ability to translate project requirements into accurate, practical system layouts while coordinating with internal teams and meeting customer-driven deadlines.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple design projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings and layouts for mechanical systems, piping networks, fire suppression systems, control components, and associated electrical components.

Review and interpret architectural blueprints, construction drawings, building plans, and technical specifications.

Design and coordinate system layouts for commercial buildings, high-rise structures, and other complex building environments.

Translate conceptual requirements and project specifications into accurate, installation-ready drawings.

Coordinate piping routes, equipment locations, control devices, and associated components within building layouts.

Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.

Manage multiple design assignments while prioritizing deliverables and meeting strict customer deadlines.

Complete design projects within established turnaround expectations, typically around seven days per project, depending on project scope and complexity.

Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance with applicable design standards.

Incorporate design revisions and feedback while maintaining drawing quality and schedule commitments.

Maintain organized drawing files, project documentation, and design records.

Communicate project status, design questions, and potential scheduling concerns to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with a primary focus on 2D drafting and design.

Ability to read, interpret, and understand complex blueprints, architectural plans, and construction drawings.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings.

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize assignments, and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work independently when required.

Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and customer priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Approximately 5 10 years of AutoCAD, CAD drafting, or related design experience; candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong technical capabilities.

Experience with mechanical design, piping layouts, fire suppression systems, HVAC layouts, or similar building systems.

Experience developing layouts for commercial buildings or complex building environments.

Familiarity with Revit; this is a plus but not required.

Experience coordinating mechanical systems, control components, and electrical elements within building plans.

Experience working in a deadline-driven engineering, construction, or technical design environment.

Location: Marinette, WI 54143

Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension

Shift hour: Mon- Fri; 08 to 05

Job Type: Hybrid initially in office and after couple of months can be remote.
