Job Summary

• Our client in the Rankin area is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter / Structural Steel Detailer to support commercial construction projects through the preparation of shop drawings, field installation drawings, and project documentation.
• This position is ideal for someone with structural steel, steel deck, roof panel, wall panel, or related construction drafting experience.

What You Will Do

• Prepare detailed shop drawings for steel deck, accessories, and related products
• Create field installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop plan layouts and sectional details for commercial building structures
• Review project specifications and contract documents
• Verify project files and production documentation
• Check drawings and prepare cut lists from approved shop drawings
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators
• Communicate with customers regarding drawings and project specifications
• Assist with reviewing fabrication documents and bills of materials
• Participate in drafting and technical training programs

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of structural steel, steel deck, roof panel, wall panel, or related industry experience
• 2-5 years of drafting experience preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Understanding of construction documents and specifications
• General knowledge of math and trigonometry
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate Degree in AutoCAD/Drafting preferred
